Welcome

Welcome to the world of Global Riders!

This site is a showcase of all the content from the Global Riders Network.

That being the case, visitors to this site may well see a lot more information and discussion than they are really interested in. It is recommended that visitors browse on a more localised partner site that has a limited amount of content. These sites are listed on the the Global Riders Network homepage.

That said, it's always interesting to see what's happening elsewhere in the world, so feel free to browse around.

Enjoy! Smiling

Manly Dam Volunteer day this Saturday

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

After some delays we now have confirmation from council that they will deliver rock and crushed sandstone in time for this weeks vollie day. As usual we'll meet at 8am Saturday morning. The meeting point is Wakehurst Parkway junction with Curl Curl creek fire trail. We will be working on a section of the Trig track.

Rock will be delivered Friday, we also need some helpers to move rock to the work site in time for Saturdays session.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 07 Jul

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Status:
Green/Open

Close enough to Green for the weekend - at last!
Really there are still a few wet patches around and Shaft, in particular, is showing some damage from people riding when it was wet. If we just tread lightly on those spots will help prevent further damage. Some good drying weather from now on should see it all good over the weekend.

Terrey Hills / Duffys Forest update for 16 Jun

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Status:

Rode Perimeter out to the end of the sniggle section. There has been quite a bit of work on the section through from Nerang Ave to the school entrance. New water bars, rock armouring of the usual wet spots, grading of the surface. Means it's now much more rideable after rain, but also the nice traffic line is gone and it's now a highway, for the moment at least. A couple of wet spots out past the golf course, but otherwise all fine.

The Lower Old Clay Quarry - Below 6 Shooter

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Next build day will be on Saturday the 23rd of June.

We will be working in the same area as last build day, the lower Clay Quarry.
Bad weather immediately after the work was done meant that the trails didn’t have a chance to pack down before it was impacted by torrential and on-going rain
This is not meant to be a big day and we are not planning to build any new trail or features, we are just doing a general tidy-up of the previous work and checking drainage.

No lunch or drinks will be supplied so please bring your own snacks and water.

Meet on-site at 9.30am

There are still some wet areas around, mostly lower down, but the majority is OK.
Just try to tread lightly on the affected areas - as you'll notice there has been some damage already from people riding when it was really wet.

Yep it’s that time again. This Saturday is the third Saturday of the month and that means Manly Dam Volunteer trail maintenance day.
We’ll be meeting just off the Wakehurst Parkway at the Curl Curl Creek fire trail at 8am this Saturday to continue our work on the single track. Please let me know if you are coming along so we can ensure we have enough hand tools for everyone.
