Welcome

Welcome to the world of Global Riders!

This site is a showcase of all the content from the Global Riders Network.

That being the case, visitors to this site may well see a lot more information and discussion than they are really interested in. It is recommended that visitors browse on a more localised partner site that has a limited amount of content. These sites are listed on the the Global Riders Network homepage.

That said, it's always interesting to see what's happening elsewhere in the world, so feel free to browse around.

Enjoy! Smiling

Bathurst Bike Park update for 27 Mar

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Update from my report from the previous weekend (19/3)... After a week in the garage, I looked at my bike and have two flat tyres from vicious burrs that have penetrated both tyres. I had to spend quite a while pulling out the huge spikes that had been left throughout the tyre. Also, my riding mate has one tyre that has gone flat. Not happy.

Siesmick Slashed

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Long overdue.
Tony has been out and slashed Siesmick over the weekend, fantastic and thanks so much mate!

There are plans for the NPWS guys to spray this in about three weeks to minimise regrowth so I'll be chasing that up to see maximum benifit from this work.

Rode to end of Long trail and Cowan out and back from Jap school. Wettest I've seen it, particularly from Jap school to Long junction. A lot of standing water. The usual puddles on Long and some. Cowan in good condition, but you gotta get to it! Save your drive trains...

We'll call it amber, its drying out pretty well with a fair few sections that are completely dry, the corners are still pretty wet though in places, and the usual places like Baileys paddock are still completely muddy

Calling GIS Professionals

Trail advocacy help! Calling GIS professionals

Hey all, at TrailCare we are looking to build a detailed map of trails in Northern Sydney.

Hoping to find someone who can help:
-with raster to vector conversion of tile images to CAD lines. We can provide a converter.
-scaling and coordinate conversion of vectors into GDA/MGA zone 56
-assembling the tiles in ArcView GIS or similar to output to standard files such as *.shp.
-export of GIS layer to Google Earth

Thank you to Dave, Tristan and Sam for bouncing ideas with me so far.

Regards
TrailCare

Port to Port Entry Auction

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Port to Port is coming back to Glenrock this year. The event starts on Thursday the 25th of May and the Glenrock leg is on day 4, Sunday the 28th of May.

See details here - https://porttoportmtb.com/home/

This year the organisers have offered the GTA one complimentary entry.
It’s worth $440 and includes the whole four days

The committee and I thought the best way to share this is to offer the entry to the highest bidder and then donate the proceeds directly to the NPWS who would then spend the money on tools and supplies for our trail building project.

Glenrock State Conservation Area update for 22 Mar

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Things were drying out most places yesterday but some of the clay based areas - Suess and Shaft particularly, still have problems.
Those areas are showing a lot of rutting and cupping of the trail, unfortunately caused by people riding when it was still wet and so are now still holding a lot of water and meaning the dry-out time will be longer.

Fantasy Enduro - Online Fantasy game for Enduro World Series

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I wasn't really sure what category to use - but Events seemed somewhat related?

Hi Guys

I recently launched Fantasy Enduro www.fantasyenduro.com an online fantasy game following the Enduro World Series. If you follow the EWS then I reckon you'll probably enjoy playing Fantasy Enduro.

Its, free and easy to play. Theres no salary caps, reserves benches or trading windows - I've dumped all the "football fantasy" stuff and kept it more related to MTBing.

Round 1 is this week and the first lockout is Saturday Evening.

Attached photos show the top and bottom, size 41 (included original SIDI insoles, which are 255mm in length), and these insoles were never used as I usually use my other heat molded carbon insoles.
