Welcome

Welcome to the world of Global Riders!

This site is a showcase of all the content from the Global Riders Network.

That being the case, visitors to this site may well see a lot more information and discussion than they are really interested in. It is recommended that visitors browse on a more localised partner site that has a limited amount of content. These sites are listed on the the Global Riders Network homepage.

That said, it's always interesting to see what's happening elsewhere in the world, so feel free to browse around.

Enjoy! Smiling

Glenrock Pump/Jump and Skills Precinct

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

You may have heard talk about this recently but it looks like things are really starting to happen.
The Glenrock MTB Park group, who GTA members are involved with, are working on grant applications and things are looking very positive.
The NPWS are very supportive and keen for this to happen.

The GTA are getting behind this as well and will be holding our next build day in the Pump Track area in preparation and to promote the new venture.

Keep an eye on the MTB Park FB page for updates -

Track closure

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Whilst running part of the Manly Dam track between Water Reserve Rd, North Balgowlah and Manly Vale PS, tonight.
There is now fencing completely blocking both foot and bike traffic.
This has effectively closed the Manly Dam MTB loop?
Can someone shed light on this closure?

This weekend we have the toughest race on the Australian calendar - the annual Grafton to Inverell Classic.

The race comprises 4 divisions - Div 1 is NRS, Divs 2 and 3 are for non-NRS, and there is also a women's NRS division.

The race is 228km long and features a 15km climb up Gibraltar Range, then a rolling terrain with many killer bergs before the finish in Inverell.

This year NSCC has 8 riders - 4 in NRS and 4 in Div 2. A profile on each of the riders is below:

For Sale: Tyres - 26"

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Price:
0.00

Just found under the house a pair of 26" Kenda Small Block 8's and a pair of 26" Schwable Racing Ralph's. Both have been used on only a few rides so probably 90% tread remaining.

I'd rather give them away than bin them. Downside is I live out west near Parramatta and you'll have to come and get them!

Manly Dam Survey markings

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Noticed lots of (what I think are) survey markings on the Bantry Bay side of the trail. Blue paint of the type used for marking roads in construction etc. All the way from the Seaforth oval sniggle right through to Possum.

Anything happening to these trails? wonder if it could be because of the tunnel. Really hope we don't lose those bits of track....
