Tasmania MTB trails video reviews

Hi all,
As Bangers and I compiled the Tasmanian MTB Guide Book last year we took the opportunity to film some video footage so people could get a feel for each trail. Now the book is out I've been busy getting these videos out. We called them AFTERGLOWS as we often talked about the trails straight after the ride so it was our first impressions.

Normally about 2 minutes long for each trail there is a youtube channel you can browse to find a trail you're interested in:

The scope of this is huge and the impact if it is supported by the community will be amazing. Take 5 minutes to look at the sheer scope. Rotnest Island, Kings Park, Joondalup it is all in there. Well done to all involved. I've only skimmed at it while sipping my coffee but it warrants a good read.

The press announcment:

Tasmanian Mountain Bike Guidebook is out

After the success of the WA MTB guide book we decided to do a guidebook about an area that a lot of riders are interested in, Tasmania. My riding partner/wife and I spend some time this year there and then many months in front of a computer putting it together. If you have the WA guide book it will feel very familiar but with over 40 places to ride Tasmania has a lot to offer MTBers and the future for riding there is very exciting.

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi all,
It's been a big push and we've been putting out the photos once we've completed each day but I'm happy (relieved) to announce that all images from all days are now live.
You can search by race plate.

I hope you find a great image of two from the event.

Fun weekend in Albany Great Southern XC race and Urban DH

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Well Bangers and I went down to Albany to check out this new event. The write up is on flow with pictures if anyone was curious in trying this event out. It looked like everyone had a lot of fun.

Kalamunda 50/50 photos are up

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

866 photos for around 400 competitors so hopefully I got a good shot of you if you competed. Frustratingly the search function is playing up on the home page.

If you follow this link and enter your race plate number you should hopefully come up with a couple of shots.

I've logged an issue with tech support so the search should be fixed from the home page but in the meantime you should be able to find your images using the link above.

Thanks
Travis Deane

Jane and I landed in Hobart last night. Time to unpack the bikes and head to the trails. We're putting together the Tasmanian MTB guidebook (similar format to the WA MTB guidebook). It will be available from the same place once it is printed. www.mtbguidebook.com if you are on facebook and want to track our progress the like the page: https://www.facebook.com/mtbguidebook

Hooray for new trails day!

Interview on ABC radio Perth

Got to chat to the ABC last week regarding the WA MTB Trailguide. Got a plug in there for PerthMTB and also KMBC. It's about 11 minutes long. I also did ABC regional later in the day but I don't have a link.

Cloth maps are now available

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Well some cloth maps are back from the printers. Made from the same stuff you clean your glasses with they can withstand a couple hundred washes in the washing machine. Covering the same areas as their cheaper paper cousins these maps are Perth (Kalamunda & Jarrahdale) and Margaret River (Creek Trails, Pines, Return of the Jedi, 10 Mile Brook and Wadani Trail). Wembley Cycles have them in stock if you're heading south this weekend and all good bike shops should follow soon. Also available online at www.mtbguidebook.com
