Pine Creek State Forest Mountain Bike Park

The Pleasure and Pain mountain bike event is now in its third year, born out of a desire by members of the Coffs Harbour Cycle Club to grow and improve on the Coffs Mountain Marathon point to point races of 2007-8.

011's track is essentially unchanged from previous years. There is an emphasis on singletrack, with breakouts into short fireroad and doubletrack sectors to let the legs rest some and to pass and be passed.
The terrain is hilly, with plenty of undulations across the course, but there are no he-man climbs or hike-a-bikes: we reckon a mountain bike ride is just that. Much of our course is in remnant rainforest, so you can split your efforts between railing the singletrack and enjoying the view.

The Course:
A 25km lap where you can choose to enter either the 25km, 50km or 100km race.
You will pass through transition / feed zone at the end of each 25km lap.
Predominantly single track, with some fire trail linking the single track sections. Some technical sections with creek crossings - these can be easily ridden along the logs, but walking is also an option. Undulating tracks with no nasty, never-ending climbs.

How good is my luck?

Was going through the event diary with she who must be obeyed and noticed this event is dead smack in the middle of our family holiday at Coffs Harbour! It just wouldn't be right if I was in the area and didn't compete.

One dilemma is I normally stop drinking alcohol for about 3 days prior to an enduro (it's a big thing for me!) but buggered if I'll ruin a holiday by staying off the turps. Maybe I'll spike my drink bottles with a little midori just to ensure the holiday feel in the race?
