We thought it might be an idea to have a place where you girls can get together and organise rides just for you!
What do you think? If it gets used, great, and we'll leave it up Smiling

I think this is a good place to start to get women out on their mountain bikes.

I am always keen to venture out...

kateT's picture

Just what i'm looking for ; )
I'm new to perth and MTB, so definately a slow poke chick. I'll have to leave it up to someone else to suggest a ride because I have no idea where to go!!

Great idea John! We try to head out every second weekend - to a different track each time. The more the merrier!

I think JaceyH and I are going to head out on Sunday 31st. No plans made yet, but you're all welcome to come along. We usually head off from north of river at about 8:00/8:30.

kateT's picture

Definately keen to join in on a xc ride (i'm just starting out though). Sunday 1st July sounds good if anyone is heading out, considering there is no 31st june - could be a real adventure!! Smiling

I'm up for a ride on Saturday or Sunday this weekend. If it's raining i'm not going to ride as i can't see without my glasses. (It would be the *hmm is that a rock or a leaf* thought...)

I'd like to play at the goatfarm on Saturday if anyone's interested.
Sunday i'm happy to ride wherever.

If you ladies are interested, come on over to another women's board-www.teamestrogen.com

twinkletoes's picture

Some of the girls will be racing this Sunday, so I'll be aiming for Sunday the 1st (otherwise creatively known as 31st). Forsyth Mills is fun, as is Gungin (a bit more challenging). Faster riders can follow JaceyH, slower riders... I'll try to keep up with you!! Will keep you posted re. location. Great to see more girls getting into it!!

Shorts_In_Winter's picture

Hi Crazy
Myself and the bf are looking to head out to the goatfarm on sat. I'm newly back to perth (after 3 yrs in the UK) so keen to meet some girls to ride with. Have you thought about what time you'll head out?

I guess I've been riding for about 6 months now - so technically ok...but still a bit of a slow poke. So on that note I'd also be interested in a ride the 1st of July.

im not fast and stack often as im too busy chatting, enjoy mtb as a social ride, will join you when i can

crazycanuck's picture

Hey,

Any of you ladies wanna do the newbie ride/new trails ride with didge on sunday? I don't want to be the only girl & the slowest...

I'm also happy to play at the goat farm on saturday.

C

kateT's picture

Am keen for any ride on sunday, where ever its happening. The one with didge on sunday sounds pretty good. And I can probably guarantee that I'll be slower than you Crazy - I've only been mtb-ing once before so this'll be the second time and the maiden dirt voyage for my bike too! Will be good to have another girl around too!!!

JaceyH's picture

Hi Girls,

I am keen to get out on women specific rides, but need to know where more of the trails are soooo this Sunday will head out on the newbie ride. Looks like any of us girls can go too. If not, once I know where they are, I can show you another time. Will probably head out next Sunday arvo, but will put a post up closer to the time. C u Sunday???

Hey,
my name's mary (28)
I'm sort of new.. prbly more intermediate then beginner. always wanting to get out for a ride most weekends... Any othe girls out there that enjoy getting out let me know and maybe we can organise a ride soon.

keddy's picture

Hi Mary

I am still a practising newby have did a little of Kalamunda Circuit and it crossed over Little Oven today.

I may be a bit slow for you only doing average 9ish km and some gravel uphills with roots and rocks I'm still mastering and had to walk up some of it today.

Went up to Forsyth's Mill last weekend for it's loop - loved it (it took me 45 mins to do the 6.5km circuit. I did stop a couple of times to check out obsticles and choose lines) very enjoyable.

The Goat Farm I am still practising and that takes me an hour to go around the outside loop trail. I have a new bike and getting used to the gears and some of the techniques required. Still being cautious.

Another lady Tamantha has given me her number maybe we can all meet. And if I am too slow I don't mind if you go on ahead etc

Cheers Kyra

Hi, I'm fairly new to mountain biking. I have some basic skills but really want to get better. I'd be keen to join a ladies ride sometime if anyone knows of one going.

keddy's picture

Sunday 3rd July. Meet at the Dell 9am. Look for white holden station wagon with green pool noodles on roof. Not racing, come build your skills and meet new friendship base. Bring snacks for ride and we'll stop at camel farm on way back. Pm me and i will send you my contact details. Kyra

keddy's picture

some girls riding Jarridale look to website silent revolution and wa crew.

keddy's picture

hi ladies riding from the dell onto the little oven circuit at 1pm. Not too fast more for fitness build up and practising skills. Plus getting time on single tracks. Pm me with contact details and i will send you mine. Kyra

Rob's picture

Hi guys... if you have definite plans then the new site has a calendar... use it to: post up your meeting

Smiling

keddy's picture

now that there are a few of us and times are set will put it to meetings.

Busylizzy85's picture

Hi Mary / girls!
How did you go with finding others to ride with? I am new to Perth and have been tagging along with my partner when he goes XC and DH but they are much more advanced than me and this was in the UK and Melbourne when we were there. I moved to Perth 2 weeks ago and my poor bike is sat in the garage and I am desperate to get out and riding again. I can get to anywhere to ride, if you know of a good trail or have a meet coming up I would love to join in.
Thanks
Lizzy

Hey all I'm organising a ladies MTB ride:
When: 8.30am – 12.30 pm Sunday 17th
Where: Langford Park, Jarrahdale.
Why: Many ladies have requested the opportunity to ride with other ladies to meet new people and build a riders network.
How: It will be a group ride with many regroup points and leaving nobody behind. A person will be designated sweep to ensure a safe and fun ride for all.
What To Bring: This is a group ride and as with all MTB rides please ensure you bring all you need to be self-sufficient. This will include spare tube, pump or CO2 cannisters, multi-tool, water, food, etc.
RSVP: Although this is a social ride it would be really appreciated if you could either call the shop on 94512222 or email Kerryn on kerrynl@iinet.net.au so that we have some idea on the numbers that may be turning up.
Cheers
Cat

Hey girls! Smiling

You don't have to post in this thread any more. When you arrange a ride, just post a calendar entry and away you go.

Enjoy!

KwinnyChick's picture

great, is why i joined
am keen to find other women to ride with weekends, live in kwinana so not keen on driving too far

am not too fast not too slow but not too bike fixing savvy past punctures and adjusting the seat height

keddy's picture

Jarridale is nice and close to you off Nettleton road. There will be another social ladies ride in August held by Avantiplus cannington, ring them they will let you know which day. And keep an eye out. Also site silent revolution is girl based and there are about 10 or so WA women on it, and a couple of them are down Freo way. I am towards the hills and exploring Kalamunda/Mundaring will let you know when we are out next.
